Simplifying domains for people and agents

Cloudflare announced a rebuilt domain search for Cloudflare Registrar, along with expanded agent-facing tooling through the Registrar API, Cloudflare MCP, and a newly launched cf CLI. The company said the new search shows every extension it supports, returns results as you type, and lets users sort and filter. It is available logged in or out, on mobile or desktop.
The previous search page showed roughly 20 available results from a subset of extensions and sometimes altered the search term to suggest related options, so users could not see an exact name across every supported extension. The new version returns the exact term searched across all supported extensions, continues loading results as you scroll, and includes already-registered domains, which can be filtered out.
The Registrar API, launched in beta in April for programmatic search, checks and registration, has gained a sandbox for testing registrar workflows without purchasing a domain or triggering a real transaction, an extensions endpoint covering the 420+ supported extensions and their differing registry requirements, and transfers for bringing domains in from another registrar. The API is reachable through Cloudflare MCP without a separate integration.
Pricing is shown with both initial registration and renewal prices, and discounted domains display the original at-cost registration price crossed out next to the promotional price. Starting with Birthday Week this week, Cloudflare is offering first-year registration discounts on select extensions including .io, .dev, .app and .tech, viewable from the search page and a new pricing page.
Because a single search can generate more than 420 availability questions across registries that respond at different speeds and impose request limits, the search combines prepared availability datasets such as zone files and cached answers, DNS answers, and live registry lookups. A miss in a dataset or DNS does not prove availability, since a domain may be registered without DNS configuration or be on a blocked list. The service is built on Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, Workers KV and WebSockets, with delta updates sent only for fields that changed.
Why it matters: Developers and product teams can now search, register and transfer domains programmatically or through an agent using the Registrar API, MCP, and cf CLI, and can test workflows in a sandbox without buying a domain or triggering a real transaction.
