Claude can now generate animated explainer videos and live data dashboards from text prompts

Collected Oct 8, 2026

Anthropic has introduced two beta features for Claude. The first, Dashboards, connects data sources including BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake and Salesforce and converts them into live dashboards that update automatically when given a text prompt. Each number displayed shows the underlying query that produced it, and results can be sent into tools such as Amplitude, Grafana or Hex.

The second feature, Motion, generates animated explainer videos from text, diagrams and images. The output is editable as code and can be exported as MP4 files. Dashboards is limited to paid users, while Motion is available on Team and Enterprise plans.

Separately, three Claude tools are moving out of beta. Docs, Slides and Design now work across all plans, including free accounts. Anthropic says more than 45 million documents have been created with these tools. The article notes that this traction might be one reason Microsoft is reportedly cutting back on Claude usage.

The previously announced Claude Design will be folded into the main app by December 14, and a migration guide is available.

Why it matters: Developers on free accounts gain access to Docs, Slides and Design, while the live-dashboard and video-generation capabilities remain gated to paid, Team and Enterprise tiers. Teams relying on Claude Design have a December 14 deadline to migrate to the main app.
