Scaling Agents in Europe & The Middle East: Lessons from Schneider Electric, Vodafone, and monday.com

LangChain published a guide on scaling agents in Europe and the Middle East, drawing on how Schneider Electric, Vodafone, and monday.com approach production AI at scale. According to the report, agent programs in the region are starting from platforms rather than single consumer-facing chatbots, often because companies already have a dozen agent proofs of concept scattered across business units without a consistent path to production.
Schneider Electric is described as running an internal AI Hub of 350 people supporting more than 60 agents across critical infrastructure, with an LLMOps discipline built around observability, evaluation, and deployment. The company self-hosts LangSmith on AWS EKS behind its own security perimeter and created one workspace per AI product spanning every environment. Its internal AI assistant, One Jo, serves 160,000 employees across 107 countries, and about 20% of its AI products have at least one active annotation queue where subject-matter experts review production examples.
monday.com rebuilt its AI assistant, Sidekick, from a single general-purpose agent into a layered system of subagents, bounded tools, and sandboxes after finding in production that adding more tools made the agent worse, not better. The company used LangGraph and Deep Agents for stateful execution, planning, delegation, and multi-step workflows, and LangSmith for tracing, debugging, evaluations, dataset management, and comparing agent implementations.
Vodafone built two production assistants, Insight Engine and Enigma, on LangGraph and uses LangSmith to monitor and improve them, with every conversation traced end to end.
The guide also cites patterns across the region: 35% of organizations describe a company-wide agent platform or control plane as the primary use case, 18% focus on regulated document and back-office work, 12% build agents for risk, compliance, and security operations, and 16% enable non-engineers to build agents with central guardrails.
