Ollama's transparent pricing

Ollama announced on August 31, 2026 that its Pro, Max, and Team plans now use transparent per-token pricing, with every plan including a monthly pool of usage credits that refreshes monthly.

Under the new plans, Pro costs $20/month and includes $60 of monthly usage; Max costs $100/month and includes $300 of monthly usage; Team costs $500/month and includes $1,000 of shared monthly usage for unlimited users. Ollama said the new pricing has no service fees and no 5-hour or weekly limits, and that usage continues at the same per-token rate once the included amount is used.

The free plan now includes a small amount of monthly usage for a set of starter models, with optional pay-as-you-go credits to access all models, no subscription required. Unused included usage does not roll over; it refreshes at each monthly reset. On Pro, Max, and Team, usage resets on the same day of the month the plan started, including annual plans; on the free plan it resets from the signup date.

The Team plan is now open for signup at introductory pricing of $500/month. It provides one pool of usage credits shared across an organization with no per-seat limits, unlimited user invitations, and consolidated usage viewing.

Ollama said existing Pro, Max, and Team subscribers remain on their current plans and can upgrade anytime in account settings; all new signups start on the new plans. According to the FAQ, changing a billing cycle (monthly to annual) or subscription tier, or cancelling and re-subscribing, converts an account to the new pricing. Subscribers who had an active subscription at launch can contact support to revert to their original plan and billing cycle.

Ollama said requests run on dedicated compute in the US and Europe, plus Singapore for a limited set of Qwen models, with zero data retention, and that it does not log prompts or train on user data. The company said the change followed feedback that GPU-time based billing was difficult to predict, especially as open models have grown larger, citing Kimi K3 at 2.8 trillion parameters.
