Kimi K2.7 Code vs Claude Fable 5: Landing pages that cost 94% less

Collected Oct 1, 2026

Together AI published an experiment comparing landing pages generated by Kimi K2.7 Code and Claude Fable 5. The company said it had each model produce 12 landing pages for a side-by-side comparison, using the same prompts across categories including B2B SaaS, a rooftop speakeasy, and a developer tool for SQL queries.

On cost, Together AI reported that Kimi K2.7 Code was about 94% less expensive than Claude Fable 5 overall, and roughly 16 times cheaper on average than Fable and about 8 times cheaper than Claude Opus 4.8. One B2B SaaS page cost 4 cents with Kimi versus $1.09 with Claude Fable, which Together AI described as almost 27 times more expensive. It added that generating 100 pages with Kimi would save around $94 compared with a proprietary model like Claude Fable 5.

Together AI said both models produced pages that felt recognizably AI-generated when working from a prompt alone. It then set up a custom MCP server supplying screenshots of well-designed landing pages and individual UI elements as visual references, which Kimi K2.7 Code could take in because it is multimodal. Together AI said that changed results significantly, with stronger hierarchy, better typography, and more intentional composition, and that pages loaded faster and used more readable typography.

For quality, Together AI said it gave GPT-5.5 a rubric to review and score screenshots and source code from each page on a 0 to 100 scale, covering positioning, visual direction, content structure, craft, responsiveness, and technical execution. It reported Claude Fable scored higher in both provided examples but that the gap was relatively small, with Kimi remaining competitive on design, structure, and overall page quality. Together AI said it published findings on the OVSC website, including all variants generated by Claude Opus 4.8, Claude Fable 5, and Kimi K2.7 Code, along with breakdowns of total costs, token usage, and generation time.

Together AI said open-source models are already capable of generating useful landing pages, but that prompts alone are only part of the equation without better context. It said the biggest improvement came from giving Kimi visual inspiration through the custom MCP server.
