Try Google Pics: Easy image creation and editing in Google Workspace

Google launched Google Pics, an image creation and editing tool from Google Workspace, built on the company's Nano Banana image generation and editing model. The rollout runs over the coming weeks to all Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and most Workspace business customers, and the tool can be reached at pics.new. Meg Whittenberger is the Google Pics product manager.
Pics works from simple text prompts to generate and refine custom graphics. Its editing features include object segmentation, which lets a user isolate an object and transform it without altering the rest of the image; users can also leave text comments on specific areas to request targeted changes and run multiple edits at once. In-image text editing and translation allow text inside an image to be modified or translated without disrupting the design or font. A single prompt produces several generation options, and creations can be shared and edited collaboratively by friends and teammates.
Google describes Pics as both a standalone product and something integrated into Workspace apps. The integration begins today with Docs and Slides, followed by Drive in the coming weeks, so images can be edited where users already work. Files can be dropped directly from Google Drive into Pics to design brand concepts. Google says millions of users interact with billions of images across Workspace products every month.
Why it matters: Teams already using Google AI Pro, Google AI Ultra, or eligible Workspace business plans gain AI image generation and editing inside Docs and Slides now, with Drive support arriving in the coming weeks, so image work can happen without copying, pasting or switching between applications.
