OpenClaw
OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant that connects messaging platforms to AI coding agents through a centralized gateway, according to Ollama. It runs locally on users' own devices.
The tool integrates with WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, iMessage and other messaging services, allowing interaction with AI coding agents from those apps.
Installation is available through a shell script for Unix-like systems and a PowerShell command for Windows. Ollama said OpenClaw can then be launched with Ollama to connect local or cloud models using the command ollama launch openclaw. A configuration-only option is also available via ollama launch openclaw --config. The gateway will auto-reload if it is already running.
Ollama recommends a context length of at least 64k tokens for OpenClaw, stating that the tool requires a larger context length to complete tasks. Ollama's cloud models are available for free to start, and more models can be searched on ollama.com.
Ollama noted that OpenClaw was previously known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, and that the clawdbot command still works as an alias.
