Bose’s new wired earbuds aim for the same great sound and ANC – no charging needed

Bose has announced a new pair of wired USB-C earbuds, the Bose Noise Canceling Earbuds, adding a wired product to its lineup shortly after introducing new wireless, clip-on-style open-ear earbuds.
The earbuds offer Bose's Quiet, Aware, and ANC-Off modes for noise cancellation, transparency, and off audio. Bose says they include four microphones for environmental noise capture and cancellation, plus a dedicated microphone on the back of the connected remote for voice pickup. They use the USB Audio Class 2 protocol, accepting audio at any sample and bit rate while output remains fixed at 24-bit/48kHz.
Bose says the wired USB-C connection supports high-quality, low-latency streaming, which it describes as suited to audio/video content and gaming on a personal device. Power comes from the connected source device, including when noise cancellation is on, and a proprietary Bose Sound Design DSP is included.
Rather than on-earbud controls, Bose placed an in-line remote with buttons for volume and track playback. The earbuds have removable eartips, with silicone tips included in small, medium, and large sizes. Color options include Black with blue accents on the in-line remote, White Smoke with lime green accents, and a limited-edition Dewdrop Mint available at launch. The earbuds carry an IPX4 water resistance rating, the same as the Bose Ultra Open and QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen).
My Bose members can preorder the Noise Canceling Earbuds now. They will be available beginning Oct. 15 for $99.
