ChatGPT’s ‘Intelligent UI’ update fills its responses with pictures, charts, and buttons

OpenAI is launching a feature called Intelligent UI in ChatGPT that lets the chatbot pair a text answer with interactive visuals, including diagrams, charts, forms and tappable buttons. The update is rolling out to all users alongside GPT-6, the company's new model.
According to a blog post from OpenAI explaining the change, the company trained GPT-6 to decide when to generate interactive visuals instead of text, and also taught the model how to format those visuals within its response.
OpenAI shared an example of how the feature works: when asked about the design of a seven-speed bicycle, ChatGPT might respond with a diagram of the bike, complete with interactive buttons that highlight different parts.
The feature spans several visual formats beyond static images, including charts, forms and tappable buttons that users can interact with directly in the response.
Why it matters: because Intelligent UI is rolling out to all users together with GPT-6, ChatGPT responses may now include interactive elements by default rather than text alone, changing what a typical answer looks like for anyone using the product.
