Introducing our Artifacts Hub and Adoption Dashboard

Collected Oct 1, 2026

Interconnects announced two free standalone projects expanding its coverage of the open model ecosystem: the Artifacts Hub and an Adoption Dashboard. The announcement was made by Nathan Lambert on August 3, 2026.

The Artifacts Hub is described as a curated view of models trending on Hugging Face. It highlights inference tokens via OpenRouter, model intelligence via Artificial Analysis, and Interconnects' own adoption metrics built on top of Hugging Face data. It currently covers 792 models released in the last two years, spanning core text-focused language models and multimodal generative models. Interconnects says it follows data on every model on Hugging Face, analyzes the core few thousand LLMs through a public, regularly updated GitHub list, and hand-selects a few hundred for further explanation. The Hub was built in collaboration with Project VAIL, an AI verification startup.

For the most popular models, the Hub shows how far behind a model was in frontier intelligence based on Artificial Analysis's Intelligence Index, compares Hugging Face and OpenRouter adoption with similar models, presents relative adoption metric (RAM) scores for time-size normalized downloads, and offers a VAIL similarity index of models with related generations. A snapshot for GLM-5.2 was given as an example.

The second project, the Adoption Dashboard, is a living, daily-updating dashboard of download and derivative model numbers by geography and organization. It highlights the US-China gap and growing players in the open ecosystem. Interconnects says the data behind the US-vs-China model adoption plot from The ATOM Project had previously been updated only intermittently.

Interconnects said its prior work consisted of release recaps for models such as Kimi K3, GLM 5.2 and DeepSeek R1, plus monthly Artifacts Log round-ups. It credited Hugging Face, OpenRouter and Artificial Analysis, and thanked VAIL for motivation and support.
